Bjork/Stockhausen connections

By blogger

Bjork’s layering of vocal tracks as instrumental sounds on the track “Headphones” (Post) is indebted to Stockhausen’s Gesang der Junglinge. Indeed, there are a number of connections to be made between Bjork and Stockhausen and The Beatles - Gesang der Junglinge was Paul McCartney’s favorite Stockhausen work too. To honor his influence, the Beatles put Stockhausen’s face on the cover of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club.
